WP4.news a solution for Digital First

Tecnavia has developed an InDesign plugin to make it quick and easy to compose your printed paper, starting from digital content in the WP4.news – WordPress powered CMS.

The plugin doesn’t recreate an editorial system, but is strategically advantageous in certain situations, tipically for weekly papers, creating a workflow which simplifies the work required to create a printed edition, starting with the content already present in the WordPress CMS.

Thanks to the inDesign plugin, it is very simple to import articles from a WordPress environment to an inDesign print page.

The whole Digital First solution consists of a plugin for WordPress which facilitates the preparation of articles intended for being rendered in print.

The WordPress plugin incorporates a number of features useful to organize the articles which will eventually be sent for impagination to inDesign.

One of the best features within the plugin the ability to send articles in bulk to the inDesign Plugin- select the articles desired, and within inDesign you can then position the selected articles within the page layout.

The advantage of the plugin is that all the elements of the articles (title, subtitle, captions, body and so on) are all selected from the digital content and placed within the page layout with only one action.

The digital first concept focuses on articles being written first for the website, allowing for an easy selection process from those finished articles which will also be used for print versions of the newspaper, while allowing the journalist to adapt their original article for the print version easily.
